For my updated business cards, I looked to two of my favorite sources of inspiration: Wes Anderson and Laduree.
I am a long time fan of Wes Anderson's work. While, I love some of his movies, I don't care for some and I feel lukewarm on others, the one thing that keeps bringing me back to Wes Anderson's work is his aesthetic. No one creates beautiful, nostalgic, quirky, moody, colorful, weird little worlds quite like he does. And when I learned, he designed a cafe...?!?!?! Bar Luce is absolutely everything my dreams are made of. Look at that color palette!!! I borrowed some of that color palette.
And Laduree. The grand dame of frou frou macaron patisseries. I love the pastel, Marie Antoinette, gilded branding of it all. I knew I was going to spring for gold foil finishes on these business cards.
Et voila! I feel the end result makes it look like Lisa Chow is the name of some fancy Parisian patisserie where you just might find a shopgirl with a Mexico birthmark on her face behind the counter.
