Remember when I moonlit as a fashion writer? No? Yeah, me neither. It was that short of a blip.
Blame it on too many fashion magazines. Blame it on The Devil Wears Prada. Blame it on grabbing at straws to find something, anything more glamourous than my day job. Blame it on being early 20s. Whatever it was, needless to say, my writing career never took off.
However, on my backlogged mental list of pipe dreams, wish lists, some days and one days, there is a tiny one line, one word entry that reads: textiles.
And it's finally happening. I'm designing textiles.
And what industry uses a lot of textiles? Fashion. So what I'm trying to say is that in some convoluted way, I'm finding my way back to fashion.
How's that for a roundabout?
And this, my dears, is why I could never cut it as a writer.
